This paper provides preliminary analysis of the likely spatial distribution of employment loss due to a range of measures put in place to control the spread of COVID-19. We provide conservative estimations of the scale of this employment loss across the country, while highlighting specific hotspots and regions most vulnerable to employment loss.
An Extraordinary Natural Legacy: An assessment and recommendations for the proposed expansion of Western Australia’s conservation reserve system
Two decades ago, in a visionary endeavor to expand the state’s parks network and diversify regional economies, the Western Australian government started a program to buy selected leasehold properties. We assess the natural values of some 60 of these properties, across 5 million hectares, and make recommendations about an appropriate future for them. This is the first publication to do so in a comprehensive way.
